HAPPY WORLD SCHOOL
San Marcos de Colón, Honduras
Jardin y Escuela Mundo Feliz, or Happy World School (HWS), is a beacon of hope in San Marcos de Colón, Honduras, providing free education to 150 children from the region’s poorest families. HWS offers a nurturing Christian environment where children escape the harsh realities of poverty, violence, and hunger.
HWS currently serves students from pre-K through 8th grade, with plans to add 9th grade in February 2026 and introduce vocational-technical programs and higher education scholarships in the future. Your support fuels this transformative vision, equipping children with an excellent education, daily nutritious meals, snacks, uniforms, and shoes when funds allow. These resources empower students to dream of a brighter future as productive Honduran citizens and dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Happy World School is a non-profit institution aimed to provide children from low-income backgrounds a basic education to prepare them for real-world jobs, which includes the instruction of the English language. Several of these students come from low-income backgrounds, and families are unable to access government-funded schools.
Our next step is to provide scholarships to high-achieving, deserving students.
BARRANQUILLA CHURCH
Barranquilla, Honduras
Barranquilla is a small farming community twenty minutes from San Marcos de Colon. The church has out grown it’s current building, a glorified pole shed. The congregation consists of 125 members that is 60% children. SWCHH has completed the parsonage for pastor Juan, his wife and five children. The seed money for the home was provided by a church in El Salvador. The bulk of the funding has been provided by The Christian Church in Cogan Station, PA. Excavation for the new church foundation is complete. The foundation piers and septic cistern are installed. The project is currently stalled until more funds are raised. About $50,000 is needed to build the Sanctuary and classrooms.
VIRGINIA BOWEN CHILDREN’S HOME
Amapala, Honduras
The Virginia Bowen Children’s Home is an extension of the work with children at risk as part of the Children’s Programs of the Christian Love Brigades Association. In 2017, Pastor David Osorto Pavón and his wife, Blanca Cecilia de Osorto, collaborated with the local church to address the poverty that affected several communities on island. Through forging alliances, they constructed an integral development center in the Tiguilotada Village. The work expanded to create a safe and stable home for unsheltered and abused children, the Virginia Bowen Children’s Home, primarily by the support of American missionary Carol Bailey. The Home was inaugurated on March 25, 2018.
The orphanage is currently operating paycheck-to-paycheck, and is in need of $2,500 per month, or will be forced to close.
